This requires our designated business partners to provide assurances to comply with the security measures necessary for the production, receipt, storage and transmission of protected health information electronically. HIPAA requires that an agreement be entered into between a covered company (fairfax County and its agencies) and any counterparty that provides services on our behalf if identifiable health information can be found individually during those services. Fairfax County may need the help of various third parties to help provide health services to our residents and employees.
